FatalError: [Database connect fail]

Hi.
When I click on a "View" button on "Stats" column here on
"Recent Scores"
http://www.blockout.net/blockout2/scoredate.php
I get an error page.
"FatalError: [Database connect fail]"
Like this
http://www.blockout.net/blockout2/advst ... reid=71538

Here it seem to work.
"Online Score Database"
http://www.blockout.net/blockout2/score.php

Has it always been like that?
Can someone fix it?

i just figured out / realized that the advanced stats are implemented through a cgi binary and that i do not have the source code for that. the source code is with the original developer of blockout II, jean-luc. i will ask him via email, but i doubt that he still us interested in the blockoutII project.

then someone need to get all source code,
to be able to maintain / develop this great game.

Who can and want to do this?

quick update: i got the server code from jean-luc. so i might be able to fix the advanced score section.

regarding the full code: this is a open-source part (the game itself) and a closed source part (for online-highscore lists). that closed source part is closed for a good reason: to reduce cheating. jean-luc implemented some elaborate methods for that.
so i doubt that this part will be open-source anytime soon. but we will see.
anyway, let's see and wait maybe another year. maybe jean-luc will find some time to release a new version of blockout II.

and in the hands of a few.

Please discuss with jean-luc to make BlockOut2 as an online version.

I guess it would be the best way to get this game to get more players.

He can build it on my online version on GitHub if it is interesting.
